So watch out world! Ha, I know, a little cheesy, but I swear, I am not really kidding. I feel like a million bucks. The only way I could feel any better right now, is if I had had like, 3 days off, and came back to an agent asking to promote me to Hollywood or something.
And if you're not catching what I'm putting down there, I took a day off. Yes, me, I took a day off.
Well, technically, I took like, 6 hours off. Or maybe a bit less lol. But let me tell you, it was heaven. Glorious. It was the most magical, needed day that I have had in a very long time, and hell, it took a break down, and THEN someone I look up to and who mentors me greatly, basically demanding that I take time off, for me to take that time.
I felt guilty about it at first, yes I did. And overwhelmed. I mean, time off? What? I am a sole entrepreneur, and business owner, and single mother of 3, what is going to happen to my world if I take time off?
Turns out, not a whole fuck of a lot.
Oh, yes, the laundry built up in one day. My kitchen was a write off. My bathroom a mess. Don't ask me about my to do list. And my email and messages are flooding over right now. So yes, the mountain builds up while you're away.
But if I have learned, really learned in my soul, anything lately, it is this; there will ALWAYS be a mountain in front of you. That is never, ever, EVER going to change, no matter who you are, what you do for a living, what your dreams are, what is going on in your life. There will always be shit to do, stuff on your plate, and life's demands adding up.
YOU need to be prepared to tackle that mountain, and you need to be the best YOU you can be. YOU DO HAVE A CUP. And it is emptied and refilled based on what you do with your life. That mountain is never going to change, but you will, mentally. And you can tackle that mountain a hell of a lot better if you are recharged, rested, happy, focused, and ready to take on the world, than if you are standing at the foot of that mountain, looking up, when you are drowning and 5 seconds away from the looney bin.
I love how raw and real you guys let me be with you. I appreciate you reading and sharing and being a part of my journey along the way. So please, I know someone out there who is reading this, is feeling what I'm saying.
Learn to take some time for you. Stop being so hard on yourself. You do not have to be perfect. You do not have to live up to every single expectation that you put out there for yourself. You do not have to hit every single goal, dream, and agenda that you've set for yourself,. on the first try. Be proud of what you've done, what you're doing with your life, and what you have accomplished, and for Goddesses sake man, TAKE SOME TIME OFF. Take some time for you. Your future mountain tackling self is going to thank you for it. Please.
Love yourselves friends, and each other.
Our mental state is so important. Reach out when you need to. Talk about it.
Much love to you all,
